Aims & Objective

i) To Develop suitable sports infrastructures at different levels i.e. Block level, panchayat Level and District level

ii) To provide facilities for intensive coaching to sports persons of different age group.
iii) To organize competitions and provide incentives to different sports persons/ sports talents/ sports students at different levels.
iv) To provide assistance to Sports organization at the District level to ensure overall improvement of Sports and games.
v) To popularise sports consciousness in the District.

Schemes / Programmes

(formulated for achieving the object for organization of sports and games)

Construction of Stadia

i ) Construction of Swimming Pool.
ii) Development of Play field for Schools.

iii) Development of play field at panchayat level.

( Out of 193 number of Grampanchayat of Bhadrak District ,81 play field have been identified)

iv) sanction of one time grant to the tune of one Lakh for purchase of non-Consumable sport equipment.
V) Sports Talent Scholarship to the School and College Student.
vi) Financial Assistance and pension to the veteran sports persons.
Vii) Talent Scouting for admission in different sports hostel of the state.

viii) Financial Assistance for promotional to voluntary organization working in the filed of youth .

Sports Competition

.......Following sports competitions are organized by this office from Block to District levelfor selection of student for participation in the state level and national level competition .

i)Rural Sports competition

(For popularization of sports in rural areas under the age group of 16 years)

ii)Women sports festival.

( For creation of sports awareness among the women sports persons , No age bar for participants)

iii)Talent Scouting (only for Novices)

( For admission in different sports hostel of the state under the age group of 12 to 16 years reading in class 6th to 8th ).

iv)Excellence Scouting (Gold Digging Scheme)

( For admission in sports hostel under the age group of 16 to 20 years those who are represented at least in National School level,/ inter state level /inter university level.)

Allied Sports
.......Different type of other sports are being organized by the District Administration and Bhadrak District Olympic Association.

i) Padmanava memorial Foot ball Tournament for the School Children.
ii) All India Saheed memorial Foot ball tournament for the seniors.
iii) Birla Cup Tea District level Cricket Tournament .
iv) District level Athletic meet.

v) Exhibition women Foot ball match in aid of Chief Minister's relief fund.

Coaching Camps

i)Non-residential coaching camp have been organized in Foot ball discipline at chandbali to nurture youngsters during vacation.

ii) A one month coaching camp was organized by the district administration with the help of Bhadrak District Women foot ball association for promotion of women foot baller of this district.

Youth Services

Aims & Objectives

i) To encourage young persons and support their participation and involvement in the process of national development.

ii) To seek ways and means for youth training for self employment.
iii) To provide opportunity to the youth for economic and social development.

iv) To provide opportunity for taking part in adventure programme.

v) To provide such other programmes for building character of the youth.

Programme & Achievement

.......District level Youth festival was organized every year for participation in the State Level youth festival and National level youth festival.

i)Our District team in folk dance item represented in the National youth festival in the last year.

ii)In alocation item one namely Nuzahat Begam Stood first in the state level youth festival.

iii)In oddisi dance item Sanghamitra Singh of this District Stood third position in the State level youth festival held at Kalinga stadium ,Bhubaneswar during the year 2001-2002.

The folk dance team and allocation item of this district has participated in the national youth festival held at Hissar, Hariyana during last year.

iv)Miss Amrita Biswal of this district has represented Orissa State in adventure sports programme held at Chandigar during Last year.

Sports achievement

.. Miss. Monarama Mallick a student of Kothara High School Khotara, Dhamnagar of Bhadrak District has participate in the all India rural sports tournament in Kho-kho dicipline in the year 2002-2003.

..Giriraj Das represented Orissa in Kho-kho in the Rural Sports category for the year 2003-2004.

..Jharana Mallick represented Orissa in Kho-Kho in the Women's Sports Category for the year 2003-2004.

.. Manoj Kumar Padhi represented Orissa in Cricket in Under-15 category for the year 2003-2004.

.. Bhadrak District secured third position in the state lavel Under-15 Cricket tournament 2003.
